Our Name
There’s a beautiful pond on the farm that serves as a natural habitat for many birds, including herons.
One day, we spotted two herons fishing together at the pond, and in that moment, the name “Two Herons Farm” was born.
About
Two Herons Farm is the dream of husband and wife, Diego De la Cruz & Molly Hennessy.
We began raising chickens and using regenerative gardening methods to grow food for our family in a suburban home with one acre of land. From the beginning, we were committed to working with nature, prioritizing soil health, biodiversity, and the humane treatment of our animals. After a few years, we wanted to expand and began searching for land where we could grow more food, care for more animals, and share our passion with others.
Through that search, we found a 12.5-acre farm with a classic farmhouse built circa 1739. The barn, outbuildings, and history are the perfect setting for a farm rooted in respect for the land, the animals, and the people it nourishes. While we are not certified organic, we use organic and regenerative practices and strive to raise our animals with care, patience, and dignity.
